While this group by no means pretends the map to be complete, it is surprisingly detailed and the best available GPS map for Argentina at the moment. Proyecto Mapear is currently updated every three months. The website is in Spanish, but there is a tutorial in English for installation as well.
GPS Map for South America – Smelly Biker Wanderlust World Maps
Smelly biker wanderlust is a guy that gathers public data and converts them into one complete digital map, which is updated regularly. It is of no use when only travelling Argentina, since Argentina Proyect Mapear granted him the use of some of their outdated maps. But when travelling in other South American countries or elsewhere in the world for that matter, it may be interesting to purchase an annual subscription [US $25] to the smelly biker wanderlust world maps.

- Garmin sells a cd with world maps [US $116], which are just fine, but when only travelling Argentina, Proyecto Mapear and Smelly Biker Wanderlust are cheaper and better.
