Discounted Accommodation for Women in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Aug 26, 2009 Tracey Chandler

As well as offering cool discounts for females throughout the year, The Clan Hostel, Buenos Aires is also a great back-packer spot with a friendly vibe and superb kitchen

The Clan Hostel in Buenos Aires’ downtown spot, known officially as the Microcentro, and home to the famous city sites of the obelisk and 9 de Julio (supposedly the widest road in the world) is a very popular place for young backpackers and individual travellers to stay.

It regularly houses guests for long periods of time, a fair few of which end up staying in Buenos Aires for much longer than they had at first anticipated and then fitting in a few hours work for the hostel in order to receive discounted accommodation.

It boasts a lively, but welcoming atmosphere and a large well-equipped kitchen where lots of different faces from all across the globe meet to share stories, advice and food on a very low budget – a common theme amongst travellers anywhere.

The Clan Hostel has good contacts for travellers with South American Explorers

Indeed, the hostel is run by such a friendly group of people that South American Explorers, Buenos Aires (a non-profit organisation with three other bases found across the South American continent) have recently begun developing a strong relationship with the hostel and promote it is a top-notch place to stay in exchange for the use of their kitchen facilities.

A recent SAE event that was held in The Clan was an alfajor cooking class. SAE members and other interested parties staying at The Clan at the time got together to learn how to make the famous dulce de leche Argentine sweet treats. After two or three helpings, few people felt the need to eat for the rest of the day and sugar rush highs were felt all round.

Female Discounts at The Clan Hostel

The added extra pull about The Clan is that they always have promotions going on; deals to be taken advantage of. For example, during the past few months, the hostel has been trying to encourage more female tourists to stay with them by offering 4 nights for the price of three. Indeed the most recent deal for willing females was a whopping 50% discount every night as a standard promotion for the entire bill.

Granted that these promotions have been offered recently during low season, but The Clan is notorious for having really good deals throughout the entire year and should always be a place to look up when spending some time in Argentina’s capital.
